I changed it because my ice maker wasn't keeping up and our door water flow seemed a bit weaker. Everything was back to normal a couple of days after replacement. But then it too started having the same effects, only sooner. And again, no notice from the fridge nor do I have any indication that the filter is bad. Only that the ice maker is making smaller ice, thus not keeping up with our needs. And the water flow at the door seems a bit weaker. I wanted to make sure I had a set of filters when they needed to be changed. I just replaced the original filter today with the new amazon filter and it did not work. I purged the water and got about 1 gallon out before it ran out of water pressure. I put the original one in and it stilled worked so I know it is a bad filter. The second filter was then installed, the same way as the other two. After purging the water, the pressure is very weak but much better then the first original filter. Humm $60 worth of filters purchased from Amazon and neither will give me water pressure, I think the filters are bad. The original one lasted 7 months. It also is very odd you cant contact anyone here on amazon for a return or even for customer support. If you shake it, you should hear water inside the filter. Turn the water filter upside down and forcefully shake out the water inside the filter until no more water comes out. Put the filter back in place. In approximately one day your ice maker should start making ice again. I hope this helps everyone!! |
