This is actually a nice refrigerator. But, the ice maker is horrible. Cubed ice comes out crushed. It backs up a lot. And, the inside of it has a lot of built up frost- which probably clogs it. I have reset it, called, to no avail. There was some complaints about the ice maker that I read in reviews. I should have listened. Also, a week after I got the refrigerator, I was cleaning the door with a soft cloth and stainless steel polish. The cloth caught the "S" on the Samsung decal, and took the "S" off. I called for a new "S," or a whole new sticker. Samsung said, "no way, that is a cosmetic thing." To come out and fix it, they would have charged me for a service call. I just need an 'S!' And, it was only a week old! So, the fridge looks dorky as an "AMSUNG." I actually called again about the sticker and they still said no. So, instead of buying an Amsung stove and microwave to match, I bought both Whirlpool. Samsung lost our continued business over a sticker?????? Of an S!!! Not... Read more

This refrigerator looks really cool, has all sorts of sensors and other electronics, and that may be where the trouble lies. From the beginning, was not happy with the lukewarm water from dispenser (manual says if you don't like it, add ice, no kidding). At 11 months the refrigerator temp rose to 56 degrees and hung there. Electrician replaced computer panel (this refrigerator has a computer), and that solved the problem for one more month. Same thing happened, and this time we learned that the welding on the freon tank was bad, so there was a slow leak that could not be repaired. The repairman said this is a classic issue with many Samsung refrigerators these days. Well, its been nearly two weeks of hanging on customer support lines at Samsung, but we finally have a certificate to replace the refrigerator (the freon unit, thankfully, carries a 5-year warranty). Will not ever buy a Samsung product of any kind again, but then, I'm cranky.

The doors on my unit had to be replaced because they began to oxidize and rust was starting to form. Had to wait for Samsung to come out, view doors, order new ones, then come back. They only replaced shells of doors so took tech several hours to remove old components and replace. This shouldn't happen on a unit that is only 3 months old. Also ice dispenser is poorly designed and we almost always get ice on the floor. I'm only hoping there will be a recall and Samsung will fix this.

I'm very annoyed that Samsung should call me about six months after purchase to try to sell me an extended warranty and tell me it will cost about $400 to replace the circuit board and how it won't be covered under warranty. I think they have a lot of nerve asking me to spend more money to make sure the appliance will last for a few years. Is it quality or is it junk?

Lastly I wish I had found a stainless steel side by side that had an internal ice-maker. The on the door water/ice... Read more
